The 150-mu (10-hectare) corn field located opposite the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences in Beijing is the only farmland within the city's Third Ring Road. The field is home to several experimental crops, including wheat and corn. The field sits in Beijing's Haidian District, where housing prices have lately risen to 100,000 yuan per square meter. Considering the value of the land on which it sits, the field has been called the most expensive corn field in the world.
