Mom wedges daughter under wheels in an attempt to get away from punishment for running a red light

By Shen Chen (People's Daily Online)    22:45, August 26, 2016

A man riding a scooter was caught running a red light in east China’s Nanjing city on August 26, 2016. When police officers wanted to detain his scooter, the man fought back fiercely. During the fight, the man refused to hand over his scooter and pay the fine. He crawled under the wheels of a truck parked alongside the road, refusing to come out unless the police would let him walk free with his scooter.

Later, a woman who acted like she was just passing by the scene with a little girl also started to quarrel with the police and attempted to help the man snatch back the scooter. What was more appalling was that the woman suddenly started doing what the man did, but only to wedge the little girl underneath the truck.

It was later revealed that the woman who pretended to be a passerby is the wife of the man, and the 10-year-old girl almost pushed under the wheels is the daughter of the couple. The girl was pulled out after her mother’s conduct was stopped by the police.
