A shopping center in Fuzhou has created a space specially designed for husbands who don't wish to accompany their wives around the mall while the women shop.
The room is 20 square meters, and is located in a quiet area of the shopping mall. The room is furnished with several rows of comfortable chairs. Under each chair is a mobile charger, and there is also a selection of novels and magazines available.
The space aims to solve a problem that stereotypically divides many couples: women like to shop more than men. The new space brings added convenience to both partners, allowing one person to quietly read or use the free Wi-Fi, while the other person enjoys a leisurely shopping trip.

A number of curious citizens have gone to the “husband storage room” for the express purpose of taking selfies in the space. However, few people so far have used the space for its intended purpose.
