(Xinhua)    09:17, July 24, 2016

Slovakia wants to intensify security measures in shopping malls, at railway and bus stations, as well as music festivals, announced Interior Minister Robert Kalinak and Police Corps President Tibor Gaspar after the meeting of the Council of the National Security Analytic Centre on Saturday.

Gaspar stressed that the Slovak police has intensified its patrols at railway and bus stations, as well as other places with high concentration of people, such as discotheques, already on Friday after the first news on the Munich attack appeared.

"Today and tomorrow we will also focus on shopping malls and other places with high concentration of people," said Gaspar.

He added that the Slovak police are ready to cooperate with their German or Austrian colleagues in collecting information on suspects if they are asked to do so.

In connection with the Munich terrorist attack showing signs of "a lone wolf's attack," Kalinak admitted that some attacks are not predictable. However, he stressed a need for more efficient communication and information exchange among security forces.

"This will definitely be on the agenda of the next meeting of EU interior ministers," concluded Kalinak.
