A couple with their 10-month-old baby lived in an Internet cafe in Zhengzhou, Henan province for half a month due to rising house rent, Yangtze Evening Post reported last Sunday.
The cluttered booth where the couple and their baby lived was full of garbage and baby products. A young person commented that the parents are irresponsible because such an environment would not be good for their baby.
When giving an interview, the parents explained that they could not afford the rising rent, and that the 10-month-old baby also consumes a lot.
The woman surnamed Zhang said that they came to Zhengzhou for work from Xinxiang, a neighboring city of Zhengzhou. They knew that it would not be good for the baby to live there but they had no choice, her husband added.
The baby was finally sent back to their hometown to be taken care of by the grandparents.
