More than 100 foreign students from universities in Shanghai have attended the first special recruitment fair in the municipal's pilot free trade zone.
According to Hu Chen, who works in the human resources department for a Shanghai animation company, most applicants showed confidence, logical expression and excellent language abilities during the interview, with many speaking more than four languages, which he said was attractive for his company.
Since August 2015, foreign graduates seeking a job in Shanghai haven't had to show two years of work experience, as had been the case before.
Xu Wen, director of Pudong New District Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, said the FTZ welcomes talents from across the world to make a career in Shanghai.
Data shows 29 companies from the FTZ offered 224 positions in total for this year's new foreign graduates. 66 students have already reached primary agreements with employers for a position.
