The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs says the upcoming G20 summit will be a good platform for exploring new engines of growth for the world economy.
Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying says China remains an important source of growth for the world economy, as other major economies have fallen short of expectations.
"The International Monetary Fund has lowered its expectations for world economic growth in its latest report. But it has raised the anticipation of the Chinese economy from 6.5 percent to 6.7 percent. China has contributed to about 25 percent of global economic growth, indicating that China is an important engine of growth for the world Economy."
Hua adds that China is implementing structural reforms in order to improve its economic performance.
In the meantime, many international experts have also expressed their high expectations for the summit, saying that it will play an increasingly important role in the world.
Bark Taeho, dean of the Graduate School of International Studies at Seoul National University, says the G20 summit will help invigorate the world's economy.
"Only when a country has a prosperous trade, is it possible for it to create more jobs and develop the entire economy. By taking "Interconnection" and "inclusiveness" as its theme, the G20 summit to be held in China will help activate the trade flow among all the nations and find innovative thoughts to invigorate the world's economy."
Takesato Watanabe, the honorary professor of Japan's Doshisha University, also says the upcoming G20 will promote trade and invigorate the world economy.
