The Musk Hemorrhoid Ointment Cream produced by the Chinese brand Mayinglong has become very popular on the U.S. market, even beating Laoganma chili sauce, which used to top the list, thepaper.cn reported on Wednesday.
According to netizens, the traditional Chinese medicine cream, used to help patients get rid of hemorrhoids, currently boasts a rating of 4.3 out of 5, along with 1,027 comments on amazon.com. Laoganma chili sauce also has a rating of 4.3, but only registers 74 comments.
Many American users gave positive comments about the cream, and some even believed it was a miracle product deserving a global reputation. One user wrote, "I'm sorry, Americans, but China rules this round!"
Xia Youzhang, a senior official at Mayinglong, said the company has no plans to capitalize on the brand’s sudden popularity, and will not take advantage of it for further marketing.
Besides Mayinglong Musk Hemorrhoid Ointment Cream and Laoganma chili sauce, Warrior sneakers, Meihua sports apparel, Dabao SOD milk cream and Yangtze River 750 motorcycles are also popular Chinese products in the U.S.
