Two policemen were injured in the first blast, which targeted a police vehicle in Mathra area of Peshawar, the capital city of the country's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

Police said that the vehicle was on its routing patrolling when a roadside fixed Improvised Explosive Device hit it at about 9:50 a.m. (local time).

Bomb disposal squad, media teams and rescue workers rushed to the blast site, shortly after the incident, when the second explosion hit the same area.

Police said that the blast, which was carried out by a remote-controlled device, injured 13 people.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
