Debris found in Mozambique 'highly likely' from missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370

By Chuyi Sheng (People's Daily Online)    09:48, March 25, 2016

SYDNEY, Mar. 24 – The Australian government has confirmed today that debris recovered from Mozambique is likely to have come from the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370.

Plane debris was discovered along the east coast of Africa and sent to Australia for MH370 analysis.

In a statement, Australian Infrastructure and Transport Minister Darren Chester said the examination of the two pieces of debris has been completed.

“The analysis has concluded the debris is almost certainly from MH370,” Mr Chester said.

“That such debris has been found on the east coast of Africa is consistent with drift modelling performed by CSIRO and further affirms our search efforts in the southern Indian Ocean.

“The search for MH370 continues. There are 25,000 square kilometres of the underwater search area still to be searched. We are focused on completing this task and remain hopeful the aircraft will be found.”
