The Tayan Bridge built by China Road and Bridge Corporation opened officially to traffic on Mar. 22, 2016.
Indonesian President Joko Widodo, representatives from Chinese Embassy in Indonesia and Indonesian government officials attended the opening ceremony of Tayan Bridge on the day.
The Tayan Bridge crosses the Kapuas River in Sanggau, West Kalimantan, Indonesia. It is a part of Trans Kalimantan Highway (south route) that connects West Borneo with Central Borneo.
The total length of the bridge is 1,350 meters with a design speed of 80 kilometers per hour. The designed working life of the bridge is 100 years.
The Tayan Bridge is completed on Dec. 3, 2015. The value of the contract reached 740 billion rupiah (US $56 million), and 90 percent of the construction is funded by loans from China.
