BEIJING, March 23 -- Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on Tuesday extended condolences to his Belgian counterpart Charles Michel following the deadly attacks in Brussels on Tuesday morning.
Li said in the message that he strongly condemned the cruelty of the terrorists, while expressing his deep condolences to the victims and their families.
"China firmly supports Belgium's efforts in cracking down on terrorism and safeguarding national security," said Li, expressing a willingness to step up cooperation with Belgium and the international community in combatting terrorism.
At least 34 were killed in a series of terrorist attacks on Tuesday morning in the Belgian capital.
