Xiao Li, a post-90s young woman who studied in Japan, was surprised to find that her grandma possessed the same hobby as she did when she returned to her hometown during the Spring Festival. Her grandmother, an 82-year-old woman, is now fascinated by cosplay.

In order to stay close to granddaughter, the octogenarian learned about her granddaughter's favorite anime culture.

"Several days before my daughter came home, her grandma started using the voice search function of Baidu on her mobile phone. In order to have more common topics with my daughter, she studied Japanese anime culture," said Xiao Li's mother.

"My granddaughter and I had a deep relationship before. When she grew up and became enthralled by Japanese anime culture, we started to have less communication. After that, I made up my mind to study anime culture and cosplay. I looked up meanings with my mobile phone every time I found unclear words. Sometimes, I searched one hundred times in one day," said the grandmother with a proud smile.

The family supported the grandmother's new hobby because it seemed to keep her younger and bring a more fulfilling life.
