Toned and tanned: 'Wellness expert and health coach' Nikki Sharp is a fan of meal planning, posting quite a few snaps on Instagram of her prepped food
From simple meals of chicken and rice to gourmet inspired lunches prepared in advance, looking over the photos is guaranteed to have you craving fresh, healthy food.
Some even post before and after pictures, showing their grocery haul and then the finished, prepared meals.
As with many Instagram trends, there does seem to be an element of showing off and a 'look how healthy I am' mentality. But many people say that publicly posting their meal prep helps to keep them accountable to their food plan.

Converts say it also helps them save money, as they know exactly what they need when grocery shopping and don't waste any food.
You do need a good chunk of time to get the prepping and cooking done, as most people prepare up to five days worth of food in one go. Just make sure that you're not leaving food like chicken, which can go bad quickly, for too many days before eating.
Sunday and Monday seems the most popular days to meal prep, so your weekday meals are ready and if you want to splurge a little on the weekend you can.
