Wearing Manghao mask and miscanthus on the body, with hands painted black with pot ash, the Miao youngsters dressed up as “Manghao” and walked through the village to wish people happiness and longevity.

Manghao is an animal from Miao’s tale, which stands for integrity, courage and good luck. In Miao’s tradition, you will be a blessing if you are touched by the “Manghao”. Now, dressing up as “Manghao” is a much favored entertainment activity to celebrate the Spring Festival by Miao people.
