German short-haired pointer wins at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in NYC

Nearly 3,000 dogs came out to compete in the 140th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, but only one could claim to be top dog.

CJ, a three-year-old male German short-haired pointer, took home the blue ribbon for Best in Show on Tuesday night.

CJ beat out a German Shepherd, a Borzoi hound, a bulldog, a Shih Tzu, a Samoyed and a Skye terrier who had all advanced to the final round of Manhattan's annual Westminster Kennel Club show.

Lucy the Borzoi hound, who flew from Japan with owner Mai Ozeki took home the Reserve Best in Show award, or second place

Panda, a two-year-old Shih Tzu, was named the best dog in the toy group of the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show on Monday night
