Migrant workers from the Shangrao Economic Development Zone in east China’s Jiangxi province cannot bear wage defaults anymore so that they decided to teach their boss a lesson.

In order to get their wages, they used 12 scaffolding poles to clamp down a Skoda at a construction site. The car’s owner is said to be one of the shareholders involved in a payment dispute between the company and the employees.

According to one of the workers, his boss owes him 70, 000 yuan (over 10, 000 USD) and he is still waiting for it.

In China, over 274 million migrant workers have left their villages to work as waiters and construction workers in cities. According to the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, a total of 4,815 complaints regarding nonpayment of wages and enforced pay cuts of migrant workers were referred to public security organs in 2015. Many of the workers are waiting to get paid before the upcoming Chinese New Year so that they could go home and enjoy family reunions during the Spring Festival.
