Chinese-American singer Leehom Wang joined QQ music on Jan. 19, 2016, according to a report on 21cn.com.

Earlier in July 2015, Alibaba Group announced that it had established a new music group. The company invited two predominant figures to head the group. Gao Xiaosong, a famous singer, songwriter, talk show host, film director and Internet celebrity, will take the post of chairman of the board, while Song Ke, a long time music executive, will be chief executive officer.

On Dec. 29, 2015, He Jiong, a well-known Chinese TV host, joined the music arm of Alibaba Group Holding Ltd as chief content officer.

Music analysts said that with the development of the Internet, distribution of traditional records is challenged by digital records. The cooperation between musicians and Internet giants is right for the current trends.

Taking the opportunity of the Internet boom, the trend of start-ups and capital supplement, a large number of Chinese stars, including hosts of China Central Television Zhang Quanling and Lang Yongchun, have set their foot in business field.
