There are 668 million Internet users in China, 620 million using smart phones

More and more Chinese netizens choose mobile phones to surf the Internet, and smart phones have become the main factor driving the growth of Chinese Internet users, announced a report released by China Internet Network Information Center on Friday.

By the end of December 2015, a total of 620 million netizens were using smart phones to access the Internet, and 90.1 percent of Chinese Internet users were going online via mobile phones. According to the report, by the end of last year, China had 688 million netizens, and 50.3 percent of Chinese people could access the Internet.

The report shows a surge in the number of Internet users. The strong market promotes wider use of the Internet. In 2015, around 110 million netizens took online courses, 152 million used the Internet to find information on medical issues, 96.64 million reserved taxis online, and 21.65 million reserved special cars. The Internet has made a huge change to public services; it helps to facilitate public services and improve people's lives.

It is also worth mentioning that by the end of 2015, there were 482 million people reading the news via their smart phones, an increase of 16 percent from the previous year.
