China's Fengshui culture has widespread in western countries and infiltrated into their architecture and lifestyle. Fengshui also connects with daily life of overseas Chinese.
As an increasing number of overseas Chinese choose to invest in real estate in foreign countries, Fengshui has influence on architecture. Real estate developers even ask Fengshui masters for advice.
In the U.S., if somebody wants to sell houses to Chinese, he should know that Chinese do not like houses with stairs facing the door and houses with doors in direct alignment. Chinese will not buy a house in which beds face the door of bedroom.
At present, Fengshui has become a subject in western countries. Agencies which promote Fengshui culture have gained popularity in Germany from 1980s, and Fengshui masters with blonde hair and blue eyes carrying compasses have appeared in Germany.
Germany has hundreds of Fengshui-related associations. International Fengshui Forum was hold in Germany in 1996.
Furthermore, 17 universities in the U.S. offer courses related to Fengshui and I Ching. At least 12 schools are set up especially for the study of Fengshui, providing year-long courses.
