With the development of cyber technologies, more security issues will inevitably emerge, said Eugene Kaspersky, CEO of Kaspersky Lab, in an interview with People's Daily Online on Dec. 17 at the 2nd World Internet Conference.

Many important players in the Internet technology industry from home and abroad have attended this event in Wuzhen, a river town in east China’s Zhejiang Province. Eugene Kaspersky, the founder and CEO of Kaspersky Lab, is one of these leaders. Kaspersky detailed his views on cyber security during the interview.

Kaspersky said that Internet technology has become a new tool for developing the economy and bridging communications worldwide, but rising issues with regional, national and even global cyber security cannot be ignored. Kaspersky believes that China, as a huge nation with well-developed Internet technologies, must maintain its pace in development while simultaneously protecting the safety of the Internet.

The cyber security issue is getting more serious and urgent. According to Kaspersky, Internet threats have evolved from primitive, basic attacks on individuals and small businesses to very professional, high profile attacks on big enterprises, the financial sector and even governmental organizations. In the future, more critical areas could be affected by well-organized "cyber terrorism." Kaspersky suggested that everyone must keep Internet security issue in mind, and use reliable security systems for computers and smart phones.

The Internet brings us a lot of fun and functionality; we are able to manage our lives more easily because the world is better connected. Nevertheless, Kaspersky offers the reminder that, with the development of cyber technologies, more security issues will also emerge. Support from the government is very important during the Internet revolution.
