Gong, 27, swallowed a 12-centimeter-long nail in order to win 6,000 yuan in a bet in east China's Ningbo city. After several days, the nail punctured his stomach, which almost killed him.
Gong said he left home in northwest China to do business in Ningbo. But the business was not successful as expected. So he took the risk to earn the money. A doctor took out the nail inside Gong's body and the surgery cost him more than 10,000 yuan.
