Life is a train and humans are mere passengers. What will you say when you have to get off the train? "Mama, I am terribly sorry. I will not fall into a coma, I am all right," said Weiwei, 5, to his mother waiting on him day and night.
Weiwei, suffering from a brain cancer, has been staying in the hospital since February, 2015. Weiwei's mother said that her son would rather beat his head with his fists than tell them about his pain.
Seeing his son slipping into a deep coma at the beginning of November, Weiwei's father was reminded of the reports on organ donation and made a decision with his wife to donate the organs and save other people.
Weiwei's kidneys, liver and corneas were removed after Weiwei died on the night of Nov. 23 and his organs were transported to Guangzhou that very night to save five severely ill patients. Weiwei's liver and kidneys were successfully transplanted into three patients on the early morning of Nov.24.
A doctor surnamed Li knew that Weiwei's parents had to pay the medical expenses of more than 300,000 yuan and proposed that this couple is eligible for medical expense deduction if they donate Weiwei's organs. But Weiwei's father refused," I just want to help the patients for no reward. I am grateful to you, but I will not sell my son for money. All I want is to see the patients whom Weiwei's organs will be transplanted into."
