Zhong Guiping, 41, is a popular courier in Chengdu city, capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province. He delivered over 400 packages that weighed about 3 tons on Nov. 11, 2014 and made almost 30,000 yuan last November. Hard-working, careful and warm hearted, he virtually received no negative comments from customers in the whole year.
Zhong touched a high-tension cable at the age of 5 and his right arm had to be amputated. "I want to earn my own living even though I lost my right arm," he said. Having this faith, he had been taking odd jobs for many years.
When he was 30 years old, he joined the delivery industry. He made less than one yuan by delivering a package as an ordinary delivery courier at first. Seven years ago, an idea occurred to him. He started to contract the express delivery business and to fetch packages from customers' homes. Since then his income soared by several times.
Now he is the famous 'one-armed delivery brother' in the eyes of students of Sichuan University. He gets up at 7:00 a.m. and starts one day's work by riding his electric bicycle for 10 kilometers to the company.
"I will continue to work hard and try to beat last month's record," said Zhong on the occasion of 'Double 11', which is an important day for online shops in China.
