The 'Pompeii of the New World': Ceren village in El Salvador perfectly preserved by ash
A community building at Ceren believed to have been used by elders to make decisions. The the two large stone benches can be seen clearly in this photo. The ash has preserved the village so well that researchers can see the marks of finger swipes in ceramic bowls and human footprints in gardens
