Guo Ziqi never had a job related to clothing design after gradation although she majored in costume design. Guo sought his fortune in south China's Guangdong province after graduation, opening an online store on Taobao (Chinese version of E-bay) and learning make-up skills. However, Guo worked there for less than a month before she quit.

After that, Guo began to learn sand painting from Li Taishan, a noted Chinese sand artist. Invited by a tourism group in Beihai, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Guo followed Li to start her dream with sands. Guo and her teacher put up a sand painting performance experience pavilion in Beihai.

Guo eventually found a stable job as a sand painting artist in Beihai after she has strived for a living in south China for nearly 10 years. Guo managed to carry on her sand painting dream in the Silver Beach, a place famous for high quality sands with the reputation as "the world's No.1 beach.”

The pavilion established by Guo and her teacher have been put into trial operation from Aug. 1, 2015. After two months, they set up a program called "Meet in Beihai" demonstrating scenery and culture of Beihai in sand painting.
