A senior student majoring in manufacture design in a college of Chengdu has developed an electric car, which took him 3500 yuan (or about US$550) and three months to finish.

The car is 2 meters long and weighs more than 100 kilogram, allowing only one person to sit and drive. At full capacity, the vehicle could go over 40 yards.

According to the student, the endurance of the battery is about an hour after an hour’s charging. He said that he will continue update his electric car.

All parts of the vehicle were bought from Tabao.com, an online commercial platform of China, said the student.
