Chinese student killed in Seattle bus accident

SEATTLE, Sept. 25 -- The Chinese Consulate General in San Francisco confirmed late Thursday that one Chinese stuedent was among the four international students killed in a bus accident in the western U.S. city of Seattle.

A tour bus collided Thursday into a charter bus carrying 45 students and staff from North Seattle College. Most students were from Southeast Asia.

According to the Seattle fire department, 11 people were critically injured, and many others received minor injuries.

The accident, which took place at 11:15 a.m. local time (1815 GMT) on Thursday on the Aurora Avenue Bridge on Highway 99, reportedly involved an amphibious tour vehicle, a charter bus in Seattle and two passenger cars.

The Chinese Consulate General was informed Thursday afternoon that a Chinese citizen was among the dead, and there might be some other Chinese students injured.
