Wang Jiashan, an old man in Pingshan county, southwest China’s Sichuan province, got driving license 17 days before his 70-year-old birthday.

In China, people between 18 and 70 years of age are eligible to apply driver license. Wang Jiashan registered in a driving school less than three months before his 70-year-old birthday. It took him 70 days to get the license, which was admired by young students in the same school. Chen Xiaogang, the coach, said, “It seems that the old man learns quickly just as young people around the age of 30. He did even better than the younger men. He can finish practice in four days while others need one month.”

Wang said that he has a poor memory at such age, so he put more efforts in practice. “No matter how old you are, you can achieve the goal as long as you have determination and put enough efforts,” he added. At present, he can drive from Pingshan county to Jinping town by himself. He plans to buy a car and travel around with his wife.
