China and the United States have reached important consensus on combating cyber crimes during China's security chief Meng Jianzhu's U.S. visit.

Meng, who led a delegation consisting of officials from the ministries of public security, state security, justice and information technology as the special envoy of President Xi Jinping, exchanged in-depth views on tackling important issues of law enforcement and security, including cyber crimes with the U.S.

Recently, some public opinions in the U.S. played up the fallacy of "China Cyber Threat", which is just the copy of "China Threat" in cyber space. They easily drew the conclusion that the "source of cyber attack is from China" and equate the "cyber attack from China" with the "support" from the Chinese government and army, which is inconvincible.

Cyber security experts all over the world widely believe that hacker attack is a global problem which is anonymous, transnational and fraudulent. The Chinese government has on several occasions reiterated the resolute policy of opposing and cracking down on any forms of hacker attack.

China and the United States are countries with highly-developed Internet technology. Besides competition, wide common interest still exists in the cyber space between China and the United States. It is especially important for the two to enhance mutual trust and cooperation in the sphere of cyber security.

Meng expressed clearly that China and the United States need more dialogues and cooperation rather than opposition and confrontation on cyber security.

The best choice for China and the United States is to resolve the disagreement and enhance the cooperation.
