On September 14, 2015, the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China started to run a series of advertisements on 70 bike-share stations across the Washington, D.C. metro area, highlighting biking in China.
The first ad depicts the evolution of China as a “Bike Kingdom” in the past decades, illustrating a growing role of bike in a greener model of development and healthier lifestyle embraced by Chinese people. The second ad puts biking in the backdrop of China’s spectacular natural beauty, extending warm invitations to bikers across the world to join an intriguing bike tour in China.
On September 21, another series of ad will be put on 70 metro buses covering Northwest Washington and parts of Maryland and Virginia, featuring six most beloved endangered wildlife of China: Giant Panda, Red Panda, Snub-Nosed Monkey, Tibetan Antelope, Crested Ibis,Red-Crown Crane.
This is the first time the Chinese Embassy in the U.S. launches such type of ad, which is designed to convey a message of shared love for natural beauty and biking as a lifestyle embraced by both Chinese and Americans, and also to raise awareness for the potential of greater cooperation between the two nations.
