A photo showing a policewoman holding umbrella for a senior waste picker, with half of her body getting wet has been praised by netizens lately.

On her way back home after settling a dispute in her community, heavy rain began to drop suddenly. Xu Ting, called Xu Huji by local residents due to her work as a local community policewoman in charge of residential work, saw Yang Dezhen in her 90s walking with a walking stick, carrying a garbage bag. "I guess her bag might weigh over 10 kilos and I am so worried about her," Xu said. Xu always gives Yang a hand whenever she sees Yang not to mention on a rainy day.

In Xu's words, Yang lives alone with the support from local government. Yang picks waste near her home, demanding care.

Xu's action was photographed and uploaded to social media. Netizens praised her action through social media. "I think this is what I should do. I did not expect that I have received so much praise," Xu smiled. Xu has a warm heart and teaches her son to be a helpful man.

Residents in Xu's community all think highly of her. Xu often chat with them.

Xu's family members said that Xu have written down her daily work in five notebooks including that whose room leaks water and which senior falls ill. In her notebooks, she marks situation of different households with different remarks.

Xu became a community police officer in 2010 and was rewarded as "Excellent community police of the city".
