With the successful hoist of the first unit of the wind power farm in Rudong, Jiangshu province, on Sep. 4, China has made a major breakthrough in offshore wind power farm construction, China News Service reports on Monday.
Constructed by China General Nuclear Power Corporation (CGN), a leading clean energy company headquartered in Shenzhen, Rudong offshore wind farm is 25 kilometers away from the coast.
The project is planned to install 38 units of 4 megawatt wind turbines, with 152 megawatts of installed capacity, and can produce 388 million KWH annually.
The project began to be constructed on May 8.
