SYDNEY, Aug 17 – To commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the Global War Against Fascism and Chinese Victory Against Japanese Aggression, a symphony orchestra concert and photography exhibition was held in Sydney Town hall on 14 August.

The music performance, given by four Australian Chinese choruses and local symphony orchestra, has covered several famous salvation songs, which were inspired and touchable.

The photography exhibition was made of 5 components with both Chinese and English explanations, representing the unforgettable history and showing the historical picture to people from different nations.

H.E. Li Huaxin, the Consul General of the Consulate-General of the People's Republic of China in Sydney, addressing the opening ceremony, said that the Chinese People’s War of resistance against Japanese Aggression is an important part of the World Anti-Fascist War. Chinese people made enormous sacrifice and splendid historical contributions to the cause of world peace. “To memorize the history, honor the martyrs, cherish peace, open up the future and firmly safeguard world peace are our common faith,” he said.

Deputy Consul General Tong Xuejun, Senator Sam Dastyari, and people from different sectors in Australia also attended the opening ceremony. (People’s Daily Online/ Dan Zhou)
