'We are with Chinese people in this catastrophe'

It has been about 40 hours since the massive explosion happened in Tianjin, north China. Yet this disaster has not come to its end. A couple of hours ago, another small explosion happened at the blast site. The tragedy that everyone prays to be over soon is not only a grief for the Chinese people. People from all over the world are expressing their condolences.

People's Daily has been reporting the latest news about the explosions. Besides live update on its website, follow-up news have also been posted on the official accounts of People’s Daily on Weibo, Facebook and Twitter. Netizens from different countries have expressed their condolences and blessings to the victims.

The blast happened Wednesday night has left 55 dead. At least 18 others are listed as missing. Of the over 700 people hospitalized, at least 70 remain in critical condition.

"Our heartfelt condolences and sympathy for the families that have lost loved ones and for those who are injured. A salute to the firemen who laid down their lives trying to save others." A netizen named ashok759 leaves this message on People's Daily Online.

Munshi MD Ziaul Hoque from Bangladesh comments on Facebook: "We are with Chinese people in this catastrophe and pray for the victims." People are shocked and feel sad for the tragedy in China. Another comment from Pakistan says, "I am very sad and shocked to see this. God bless the families of victims and dead rest in Peace. 

Mehulkamdar says on Twitter: "Hope the injuries are minimal. Waiting for good news about the safety of the people of Tianjin."

Besides expressing sympathy and condolences, some also posted their suggestions. One stressed the incident should be looked into, and yet more importantly, focus and care should be given to the rescue and the victims.

At the same time, there are also internet users show their recognition to the way Chinese people dealing with catastrophes like this. Muhammad Rahat Khan comments under the post of "People donate blood after massive Tianjin blasts" on Facebook that it is very impressive work that humanitarian assistance comes first."

Syed Aliuddin writes on Twitter: "‏This is an excellent example of national unity of the Chinese people #respect."
