Over 700 taxi drivers in Wuhan, capital of China’s Central province Hubei, staged a strike on Monday to protect against China’s Uber-like car services such as Didi Kuaidi, according to Beijing Times.
They were seen driving vacant taxis in queues along the main streets in downtown area, causing traffic jam and attracting onlookers walking along the streets.
One taxi driver told Beijing Times that they were staging the strike to protest against Uber-like private car services such as Didi for “unfair competition”.
It is reported that local government did not intervened in the strike and allowed them to finish the procession peacefully.
