Premier Li Keqiang made it clear at the symposium on the current economic situation held in July that we should ensure the economy operate in a reasonable range and realize the coordinated development of economic growth, price stability, job creation, income growth and environmental protection. These are the five key economic indicators in the Premier's stewardship of the Chinese economy.

Economic growth

"To keep economic growth at a reasonable rate and promote economic development remain China's top priority, which is also the foundation of the improvement of people's life," Premier Li Keqiang said at the State Council Executive Meeting on March 18, 2015.

Price

Compared with "growth", "price" is an economic indicator not only related with macro-economic trends, but also closely linked with everyone's life. Keeping price level at "reasonable range" is another target of the central government.

Employment

"Employment rate is crucially important to the economy. Adequate employment is the basic goal of economic development," Premier Li Keqiang said at the State Council Executive Meeting on June 10, 2015.

"Employment will bring the income, and the common people could enjoy the benefit from economic development," said the Premier.

Income

To list "income" as one of the government's most concerned economic indicators is a big complement to the government's macro-economic control and the direct reflection of the Premier's concept of "benefiting people's livelihood". "We pay more attention to people's livelihood behind the figures," said Premier Li.

Environmental protection

Haze, as the representative of environmental problems, is not only the trouble that urban and rural residents face with, but also one of the miniatures of the imbalance in the structure of China's economic development. Hence, strengthening environmental protection is not only the government's commitment to the people's livelihood, but also an important grasp on the promotion of China's economic restructuring.
