Can you eat a whole watermelon in one bite? Is it possible to be spared the trouble of slicing a watermelon? An Academy of Agricultural Sciences in South China’s Hunan province says yes.

They have cultivated the very first thumb-sized watermelon, and it made its debut in Changsha, capital of the Hunan province recently.

As the world’s smallest watermelon, it has a diameter of less than 3 centimeters. It has a mixed taste of cucumber and lemon. Neither too sour nor too sweet, such thumb-sized watermelon would be perfect for the summer.
