The Chinese government’s anti-corruption campaign has recovered 38.7 billion yuan ($6.23 billion) in pecuniary loss since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in 2012, according to a government official.
Han Jinping, Director of the Case Supervision Administrative Office of the Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Central Committee of the CPC, said that a large number of corruption cases were investigated and dealt with accordingly during the period from the 18th National Congress through June of this year.
The handling of the cases led to the recovery of economic loss, said Han. “We are in the process of recovering more money,” she said.
“We have also confiscated 20.1 billion yuan ($3.24 billion) in illegal income, and turned it over to the state treasury,” she added.
