BEIJING, July 1 -- Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hua Chunying expressed condolences for the victims of a military airplane crash in Indonesia on Wednesday.
"We express sympathy to Indonesia for being hit by this unfortunate incident and heart-felt condolences to all victims," Hua said at a regular press conference.
She said so far there is no report of Chinese citizens being among the victims.
A C-130 Hercules plane crashed downtown in Medan, Indonesia's North Sumatra capital city, shortly after takeoff midday on Tuesday. Rescuers have so far found more than 140 bodies at the crash site, while many others were wounded.
