TOKYO, June 19 -- Japanis attempting to challenge the post-war order as the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) said it would set up a team to scrutinize the "Tokyo trials".

Local media quoted chief of LDP's Policy Research Council Tomomi Inada as reporting late on Thursday that LDP will set up a team to scrutinize the post-World War II occupation of Japan by the General Headquarters of the Allied Forces, including Tokyo trials, in this summer.

"There are calls within our party for scrutinizing developments during the occupation period, including the process of drawing up the current Constitution," Inada said at a press conference.

"We have no intention .. to deny the results of the trials," said Inada who made several visits to the notorious war-linked Yasukuni Shrine when she was a minister in Shinzo Abe's Cabinet.

Inada said "But the rulings include faulty views on history and therefore should be scrutinized."

According to the report by Japan's Jiji News Agency, the new organization is expected to be launched later this month and will be headed by Inada.

Analysts here pointed out that the move marks a new development of Japan's historical revisionism which will be taken by the international community as a challenge for the post-war order.

Inada is a close political ally of Abe and a representative for right-wing politicians in Japan.
