A Mazu waterway ceremony was held in Xiapu County, southeast China's Fujian Province on May 14, 2015. Mazu was a woman in Song Dynasty (960-1279) who forecast the weather at sea and was later deified as a goddess of the sea. Every year on Mazu's birthday, followers will participate in the waterway ceremony for the sea goddess to inspect her jurisdiction areas and bless worshippers.
