Seven years ago, on May 12, 2008, an M8.0 earthquake hit Wenchuan and nearby counties in southwest China's Sichuan Province. The quake, one of the most destructive in the world in recent decades, ruined the region and left more than 80,000 people dead or missing.
During the seven years, dramatic changes have taken place in Wenchuan. Magnificent urban and rural architectural complexes were built in accordance with the geographical features of the mountains and rivers just as a beautiful landscape painting. All the industries enjoy rapid development and the local people live and work in peace and contentment.
