Art in subway stations in China

The first subway library in Beijing opened to public on Jan. 12, 2015. Passengers could scan QR code in compartments to read online books for free. These subway stations not only combined aesthetics with technology but also present passengers with unique characteristics of a city.

Beitucheng station on Line 8 in Beijing is close to the remains of the city walls of Dadu in Yuan Dynasty. Inspired by blue-and-white porcelain, this station shows distinct Chinese style. Different wall lamps on walls and ceilings create modern atmosphere. (Photo/Beijing News)
