BEIJING, Oct. 27  -- China sent a new round of relief materials to seven African countries to help prevent the spread of Ebola on Monday.

They will go to Mali, Ghana, Benin, Guinea-Bissau, Cote D'Ivoire, Democratic Republic of the Congo and Nigeria, according to the Ministry of Commerce.

The materials include protective clothing, protective goggles, sprayers and temperature monitors. They are expected to reach capitals of the countries before the end of October, according to the ministry.

In the wake of Ebola outbreaks in West Africa in March, the Chinese government in April and August provided emergency humanitarian relief worth 34 million yuan (5.57 million U.S. dollars) to the affected countries.

On Sept. 12, it further decided to provide relief worth 200 million yuan to African countries and the international organizations.
