HARBIN, Oct. 27 -- Six people were killed and another five injured on Monday after a three vehicle collision in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, traffic police said.
The accident happened around 4 a.m. after a large truck rear-ended a medium-sized bus, forcing it to crash into a heavy semi-truck in Hulan District of the provincial capital of Harbin. The accident took place along the road connecting Harbin and the border township of Zhaoxing, said a police officer in Harbin.
Five passengers on the bus were killed at the scene and the bus driver died later at hospital. Five other passengers were injured, said the police officer.
Speeding and overload were blamed for the accident. Police found 13 people were onboard the 11-seat bus when the accident happened. Further investigation is under way.
