Wang's story became known to the country through the famous talent show Xingguang Dadao on Apr. 12, 2008. After the broadcast, Wang Mingxiao, President of Beijing Meitan Hospital, along with relevant experts, performed a 6-hour surgery on Wang. Having been fighting against thyroid cancer for 13 years, Wang got rid of the psychological burden thanks to the surgery and thoroughly recovered. (CNTV/Wang Zhe)
