The city of Zunyi is located in the northern part of Guizhou. It's known for the famous Zunyi Conference in January 1935, when Mao Zedong took over military command and become the leader of the Communist Party. It was also the place where the Red Army took a decisive turn from defeat to victory during its 12,500-kilometer Long March from 1934 to 1935.
