Chen Yi, Chief Executive and Garrison Commander of Taiwan, was authorized to accept the surrender of Japanese 10th Army, Japanese 9th, 12th, 50th, 66th and 71st Divisions, Japanese 8th Air Division, Japanese 75th, 76th, 100th, 102th, 103th Independent Brigades and Japanese garrison force in Penghu. Chen accepted the surrender of General Ando Rikichi, Governor-General of Taiwan, in Taipei on Oct. 25, 1945.
