During People's Daily Online's visit to Bangkok, an important city along the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, the team of reporters interviewed the Deputy Commissioner of a Special Branch of the Royal Thai Police, Mr. Pittaya Siriraksa and his colleagues.

This special branch has been learning Chinese for 8 months in order to offer a better service to Chinese tourists visiting Thailand. Mr. Siriraksa said that in 2013, the number of Chinese tourists that came to Bangkok had increased to 3 million and with the new strategy of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road they expect more this year. In his words: "we want to speak Mandarin to help Chinese in trouble".

According to Mr. Siriraksa almost half of the people of Thailand came from China, and for him and his team, learning Chinese not only strengthens even more the great relations between Thailand and China, but also helps improve the quality of tourism services for Chinese people.
